Key Ingredients

Frankincense Tears

Frankincense tears are the sappy resin from the exotic Boswellia tree. We grind and infuse the actual resin separately from all the other herbs in this formula. This ensures that the maximum constituents are extracted, leaving a golden oil that works as an anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory, which are useful in healing, scarring, and pain*

Arnica

Traditionally used to soothe bruises, muscle strains, and sprains, Arnica contains pain-relieving properties that can be used as a natural analgesic. The anti-inflammatory compounds in Arnica can help reduce swelling associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Arnica has been proven to be as helpful as medicated creams such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in relieving the symptoms of arthritis.*

St. John's Wort

St. John's Wort is the ideal herb for pain, especially shooting pain, muscle strain, and neuropathic pain. St. John’s Wort is the herbalist’s go-to for painful issues such as neuralgias, sciatica, Bell’s Palsy, head and spine trauma, pinched nerves, post-surgical and dental work, as well as injuries to any area rich in nerve endings (Winston, 2007; D. LaLuzerne, 2013; McIntyre, 1996). As an antispasmodic, St. John’s Wort helps relax muscle spasms by the pain associated with spasms and menstrual cramps. St. John’s Wort is wonderful to turn to when muscles are sore from over-exertion, easing shoulder, neck, and back pain (D. LaLuzerne, 2013).*

Comfrey

Among its clinical uses, the external use of comfrey has been used to relieve pain, inflammation of muscles and joints, speed the healing of bruises and contusions, and even used for fibromyalgia. It’s often prescribed in the UK at consultations regarding tendon, ligament, muscle problems, and bone fractures. In a single-blind, randomized clinical trial of 164 participants comparing the efficacy of comfrey against a common NSAID used for ankle sprains and pain, it performed better than diclofenac gel, leading the researchers to state that this natural herb functions as a safe and effective alternative to the standard treatment.*

Plantain

Any way you prepare it, Plantain is a premier wound-mending herb. It ranks high in a number of inflammation-modulating compounds (Adom et al., 2017), which give it a moistening, soothing, emollient quality. It contains allantoin, a constituent that promotes tissue regeneration, which is also found in Comfrey. Several studies confirmed the healing effect of plantain on bruises.*

Yarrow

Researchers strongly believe in Yarrow’s ability to quell inflammation due to its flavonoids. Its antispasmodic properties make it ideal for menstrual cramping. Additionally, in the Native American pharmacopeia, the Menominee tribe used it for swelling and sores (Moerman, 1998).*
